Overview

Paragliding is a recreational activity and a type of light sport aviation. Pilots fly non-engine aircraft known as (Gliders) which depend on the atmospheric air currents and help the aircraft remain stable. There are different types of gliders, including:

Paragliding

1: Powered Parachute (PPC)

A powered Parachute is a flexible-winged, Light-Sport Aircraft usually used for recreational purposes. A powered Parachute, often abbreviated (as PPC), is also called a motorized parachute.
A PPC is an individual and tandem sport in which a person flies a vehicle with lightweight lower wheels connected to an upper parachute.
A PPC trike combines a three or four-wheeled cart structure, holding a pilot and motor with a large wing similar to those used by parachutists. The thrust from the engine pushes the cart forward and forces air into the wing’s leading edge, causing it to “inflate” and pressurize, thereby keeping the shape designed to fly as an airfoil.
These vehicles are marked by high performance, balance, and ability to fly during high temperatures.

2: Powered paragliding (PPG)

Powered paragliding, also known as Paramotor or (PPG), is an individual sport and a form of ultralight aviation where the pilot wears a back-mounted motor that provides enough thrust to take off using a paraglider.

PPG requires courage, intelligence, willpower, and high physical fitness. The parachute achieves balance by relying on air masses within which it hovers to keep it in the air for a long time. Therefore, the parachute is provided with meters to help the pilot determine the height, direction, and air velocity. A meter indicates how well the wings are balanced and their horizontal position.
Some parachutes can fly at an altitude of 4000 feet or more and may travel distances of up to 150 miles and reach a speed of 100 Km/hour.
Paramotor has other uses in scientific and military fields, but it has become a sport attracting many fans to practice it, and many world championships are held for this sport.
