Saudi Aviation Club provides the opportunity to use the airport facilities for model aircraft, a small-sized unmanned aircraft replicating an existing or imaginary aircraft.
Model aircraft are remotely controlled within the line-of-sight range and are operated under the General Authority of Civil Aviation regulations (GACAR 101 Subpart E).
Model aircraft range from simple toy gliders to powered mini models made of materials such as balsa wood, bamboo, plastic, Styrofoam, carbon fiber, or fiberglass skinned with tissue paper, Mylar, and other materials.
Some model aircraft may come in large sizes, mainly when used to study the flight properties of a proposed full-scale design.
